"I’ve been using LAND since 1996. LAND is an application developed specifically for landscape architects like myself. We still use AutoCAD®®, but LAND assists us in our everyday work with our core skills: grading, measurements and layer management".

"I worked for some time in a drawing office where we used AutoCAD® uwithout LAND. I really felt this was quite a hindrance. What’s so special about LAND, apart from it being an add-on to AutoCAD®, is that it is aimed directly at architects and landscape architects, but of course it can also be useful for other professions such as land surveyors.".
"LAND contains a number of options which simplify our work routines to a much greater extent than working with AutoCAD®alone, because it has some features that you won’t find in other applications. For example, it is really easy to do calculation of areas. Another thing is spot elevations in relation to terrain; this is something we spend huge amounts of time working on as landscape architects. If you don’t use LAND, you can easily end up spending a couple of days working out the correct spot elevations."
"With the "Isolate Layer", you can quickly isolate and change layers. The "Color/pen to layer"command lets you change colour in a layer; it’s just like changing your "pen" to get a different weight. I still use my own techniques from when I did drawings by hand, except now these techniques have been transferred to digital drawing. As far as descriptions and texts go, LAND is just as amazing. You can set the text size so precisely that it is the perfect match for the measurement on the actual printout."

"I studied alongside Hans Kragh, co-developer of the LAND application, at the Danish Veterinary and Agricultural University (now KU LIFE). I have used LAND since it was first launched, and today this application is a natural and essential part of my drawing process".
"With LAND, you really are obliged to work in a more structured way. For instance, as regards the layer structure, a lot of things are handed to you on a plate. Grading can be done at least twice as fast using LAND instead of only AutoCAD® and a calculator. For other things, LAND is around 20% faster. If I work without LAND, I name the layers differently; and while this doesn't take up much of my own time, the engineer will have to spend a lot of time trying to work out what it means. In a word, it’s much easier for me to forward work that I’ve produced using LAND. Unlike when you’re working with AutoCAD® on its own, LAND lets you adapt texts and dimensions right from the start".
