LAND4 is not free software – but it’s a wise investment!
LAND4 is designed to increase productivity, which makes this a profitable investment. According to a survey of Land Software customers, they estimate that LAND4 offers potential savings of 15-20% in working hours – and even more for jobs requiring several calculations of contour lines. On a motivational level, the tool leads to greater job satisfaction among its users: more energy can be focused on creative work, and routine calculations can be left entirely to LAND4.
The following key figures have been used in calculating the rate of return on investment:

Kursus honorar DKK 5,600
Hourly costs per employee estimated at: DKK 275
Hours of work lost due to course attendance, 16 hours @ 275 per hour = DKK 4,400
Figures are based on 220 working days with 4.5 hours drawing work per day = 990 hours per year

Using a modest time savings figure of 15%, the sum is as follows:
(990 hours x 0.15% x DKK 270 per hour) – (DKK 7,800 + 5,600 + 4,400)
ROI = --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 100 = 129 %(7.800+5.600+4.400)
This means that a DKK 17,000 investment for one employee will result in a profit of DKK 20,000 in the first year. In the following years, profits will of course be much greater, as there will be no training costs and software costs will be reduced. Obviously, upgrade costs are to be expected over time.
The above calculations do not take into account the gains achieved in terms of "softer" values, one of which is the greater job satisfaction derived from having to spend less time on routine tasks.
